The square drive makes 'cam-outs' or screwdriver slips less likely, as the driver connects more securely than a pozi or a phillips drive. Torx are excellent in applications that require high levels of torque when the fastener is tightened. The pin stops a regular torx driver or straight screwdriver from being used. These torx pin countersunks tend to be desirable where the head is exposed, as they are aesthetically pleasing.
