Flange Nuts

Flange Nuts or Hexagonal Flange Nuts have an integrated washer on the base of the nut. This helps even out the fastening pressure across the surface of the receving material therefore causing less damage. Flange Nuts are available with a plain flat underside of the flange or with a serrated underside for more grip upon tightening. The flange on these nuts also helps guard against loosening through vibration so nuts are less likely to work free. Available in A2, A4 and BZP Steel with some variants also boasting a nylon insert for locking purposes.

Fastener Material Key
A2	A2 Stainless Steel - also known as grade 304 or 18/8. A general purpose grade of stainless steel.
A4	A4 Stainless Steel - also known as grade 316 or 18/8/3. A higher corrosion resistant, marine grade of stainless steel.
BO	Black oxide high tensile steel class 12+ - a high tensile non-stainless grade with a black oxide finish offering limited corrosion resistance
BZP	Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) Steel - non-stainless standard steel grade offering a basic level of corrosion resistance.
BZP-8	Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) high tensile steel class 8 - the general purpose non-stainless grade for nuts, offering a basic level of corrosion resistance.
Nylon	Plastic (Nylon Polyamide) - a tough lightweight plastic, strong at low temperatures, with excellent resistance to chemicals, and features favourable sliding friction behaviour.

Please note that due to manufacturing limitations, all nylon variants of these items are only "similar to" and not "in absolute accordance with" the standard specified.

Durlok Serrated Flange Nut in Black oxide high tensile steel class 12+

Unbrako Durlok® self locking, anti vibration hex flange nuts. These serrated flanged hex nuts are designed to pair with the Unbrako Durlok® self locking serrated flanged bolts. They both have a high tensile strength of 12.9 and a black oxide/self coloured finish. These heavy duty fasteners are suitable for situations where vibration and jarring occurs and where the joint is subject to high loads. They can be reused, as they are unlikely to be damaged by the adjoining surfaces. Durlok® nuts and bolts are manufactured from alloy steel and are through hardened to give the same hardness from the tooth surface to the core. Durlok® Fasteners can be used at high temperatures up to 300°C.
