BS 1210 - Slotted Round Head Wood Screw

This product guide contains the specification for slotted round head wood screws made to the British Standard BS 1210, a series of standard parts available from Westfield Fasteners.

Product Description

Slotted round head wood screws to the British standard BS 1210, with a traditional black japanned coating. They have a rounded, domed head with a slot drive, for use with a flat head screwdriver. The black japanned coating offers corrosion resistance and gives the wood screws a decorative lacquered look. Often used for restoration projects where an aesthetically pleasing finish may be desirable. These wood screws are used for driving into softwoods.

Scope of BS Standard

British Standard BS 1210 is the standard which covers a variety of designs of wood screws, including these slotted round head wood screws. The standard employs imperial sizes, which today are normally given alongside the metric equivalents.
